QuizLens AI ("QuizLens", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our AI study platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. QuizLens is built for university students to upload study materials, practise with AI-generated quizzes, and track learning progress.
2. Information we collect
Account information
- Name, email address, and profile avatar (including avatars you choose or from Google sign-in)
- Firebase authentication identifiers and sign-in method
- Optional onboarding details such as institution, programme, or study preferences if you provide them
Study and usage data
- Notes, documents, and text you upload or paste into Smart Notes, Flashcards, Battle Quiz, and related features
- Quiz answers, scores, mastery levels, study streaks, and flashcard review history
- Study Buddy conversations and AI-generated responses
- Exam planner inputs (exam dates, subjects, weak topics) and generated schedules
- Battle room participation, room codes, and multiplayer activity
- Usage counters for Free and Pro plan limits (e.g. daily uploads, query counts)
Payment information
Pro subscriptions are processed by Paystack. We receive transaction references, payment status, and plan details — not your full card or mobile-money credentials, which Paystack handles directly.
Technical data
- Device type, browser, approximate usage timestamps, and error logs to keep the service reliable
- Cookies or local storage used for authentication and preferences (e.g. staying signed in)
3. How we use your information
We use your data to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate quizzes, explanations, flashcards, study plans, and other AI outputs from your materials
- Run multiplayer Battle Quiz rooms and display leaderboards where applicable
- Enforce Free and Pro usage limits and process subscriptions
- Improve reliability, security, and product features
- Respond to support requests (email or WhatsApp)
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
4. AI processing and third parties
To deliver AI features, portions of your uploaded content and prompts may be sent to third-party AI and cloud providers (such as language-model APIs and hosting services). These providers process data on our behalf to generate responses. We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and database storage, and Paystack for payments. Each provider has its own privacy practices; we choose vendors with reasonable security standards but cannot control their independent compliance programmes.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored in cloud databases with access restricted to authenticated services and authorised personnel. We use HTTPS in transit and industry-standard access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use QuizLens at your own risk and should avoid uploading highly sensitive personal data unrelated to your studies.
6. Data retention
We retain your account and study data while your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal, security, or billing purposes (e.g. completed payment records).
7. Your rights and choices
You may:
- Access and update profile information in the app
- Request correction or deletion of your data by contacting us
- Stop using the service and sign out at any time
- Decline optional onboarding questions (core features may still require minimal account data)
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data-protection laws. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Children
QuizLens is intended for students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
QuizLens is operated from Ghana and may process data on servers in other countries where our providers host infrastructure. By using the service, you understand your information may be transferred across borders with appropriate safeguards where required.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy. Significant changes may be highlighted in the app or by email.
